Section VII Boy's Basketball Class A Champion: #1 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #2 Beekmantown Eagles March 1st 2025

In the second quarter, the Eagles defense stepped up, slowed down the Hornets, and won the quarter 11-8, but still trailed 25-18 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, it would stay tight, but the Eagles would be better in the quarter with a 15-13 quarter, but the Hornets would take the 38-33 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would surge as they started the quarter on a 13-0 run and won the quarter 19-8 to get the come from behind 52-46 victory. In the winning effort for the Eagles, Duprey and Brunson would lead the way with ten points as they go to 13-7 on the season and enter the New York State Class A Tournament against the winner of Section II. It would be a high-scoring game to start the first eight minutes as the Vikings would race out to an 18-10 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Vikings would start to take control of the game with a 16-8 quarter and take the 34-18 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter, the high pace of the game would continue as the Vikings would win the quarter at 18-13 and take the 52-31 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings would keep control and put the icing on the game with a 16-7 quarter to secure the 68-38 victory. In the game's opening quarter, the Bolton Eagles would jump to the big lead early with a 16-5 quarter. In the second quarter, the Eagles would stay on the attack, have a 16-4 quarter, and take the massive 32-9 lead into their intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Wild Huskies would do their best to get back in the game with a 12-6 quarter but still had a huge deficit at 38-21 as they entered the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would put the finishing touches on the game with an 11-3 quarter to secure the 60-27 victory. In the winning effort for the Bolton Eagles, they will enter the New York State Class D Tournament for the first time in 20 years with a record of 21-1 as they await the winner of Section X, as Jaxon Egloff leads the way with 15 points. The game would be tight through the first eight minutes as the Red Storm would have the slim 13-12 lead. The game would stay tight through the second quarter and low scoring as the defense would be the game's name with an 8-8 quarter as the Red Storm take the 21-20 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the third quarter, we would have another tight quarter as the Red Storm would have the 13-12 quarter and take the 34-32 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, defense would be the game's name, but the Cougars couldn't get the basket they would need as the Red Storm would get the 7-5 quarter and secure the 41-37 victory. With the win, the Saranac Lake Red Storm would punch their ticket to the New York State Class B Tournament as Crist Cedar would have 15 points in the morning, and they would go to 15-7 in the season. The Hornets would start the game hot as they jumped out to the 25-17 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Spartans would do much better keeping the game close through the quarter as the Hornets would win the quarter 14-10 and take the 39-27 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Spartans could stay with the Hornets and maintain the deficit as they would win the quarter 12-11, but the Hornets would stay on top at 50-39. As they head into the fourth quarter, the Spartans would hang with the Hornets again, but the Hornets would take the quarter 15-14 and secure the 65-53 victory. In the winning effort for the Hornets, they will go to 11-7 on the season as they head on the road for their last two games.
