Clinton Community College Holiday Classic Boy's Basketball: Willsboro Wolves Vs Saranac Spartans December 30th 2025

Saranac's Storm D'Ambro (0) slices through the defense on the way to the hoop for the score on the eight-point effort. The second game of the day for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic would feature the Saranac Spartans and the Willsboro Wolves. The game would start well for the Spartans, who jumped out to a 21-3 lead after the first quarter, as the Wolves had no answer for the Spartans' quick pace. We would have non-league action this day at Plattsburgh High School, as they would start their holiday break, featuring the Plattsburgh Hornets and the visiting Malone Huskies. The game would start tight, as both teams looked for that spark to make a run, and we would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, we would still be tight, as both teams were making shots on this night. The Hornets would have a 14-13 quarter and take the 24-23 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Huskies found another gear and stormed out to a 24-1 quarter, doubling their first-half total in one quarter, and took the 47-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, there would be no letup for the Huskies, as they led 18-10 and cruised to a 65-46 victory. In the winning effort, the Huskies would stay undefeated on the season, going to 5-0, while the Plattsburgh Hornefellall to 1-3 and will look to right the ship next week when they take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on December 29th. It would be the crosstown battle and for the early lead in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks at a packed gym. The game would be tight through the first quarter as they went back and forth, feeling each other out. Ryan Colburn would hit a bbuzzer-beaterto end the quarter, tied at 10. In the second quarter, the NNighthawks pulledaway, winning 11-5 and taking a 21-15 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the second half, the Nighthawks would stay on the gas with a 14-5 quarter to take a 35-20 lead into the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter, both offenses would take off, as the Nighthawks outscored the Nighthawks 17-12 to cruise to a 52-32 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks would stay undefeated on the season at 5-0, and the Hornets would suffer their first loss, falling to 2-1. Gallery

#1 Berne Knox Westerlo Bulldogs Vs #13 Moriah Vikings March 15th 2025
The Berne Knox Westerlo Bulldogs would be crowned the 2025 Northern Regional Class C Champions with a 79-58 victory over the Moriah Vikings. It would be the second game of championship day from the Clinton Community College and this time it would be the boy's this time as the #1 Berne Knox Westerlo Bulldogs and the #13 Moriah Vikings as they battle for the Northern Region title and a spot in the final four as the Vikings look to make the return trip. Getting started would be a fast-paced game, but the Buldogs would have a 16-10 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, though, the Bulldogs would start to take control of the game as they would have a great quarter at 21-10 and take the 37-20 lead into the locker room. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Vikings would do their best to get back in the game, but it would be a fairly even quarter with the Vikings getting the 17-16 quarter as the Bulldogs would take the 53-37 lead into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter would be another high-scoring quarter, with most of the points coming from the foul line as the Bulldogs would have the 26-21 quarter to secure the 79-58 win. In the winning effort for the Bulldogs, they would stay undefeated in the season as Shake Kirker would lead the way with 36 points as they go to NYS Final Four next weekend. Saranac Lake's Mik Denkenberger (5) swoops around the defender with the score as part of a team high 15 points. It would be the second evening game from the Clinton Community College gym, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake Red Storm in the champions challenge. The Red Storm would jump out to the lead after the first quarter as they would double up the Eagles at 16-8 lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to chip away at the deficit as they would win the quarter at 12-9, but the Red Storm would keep their lead at 25-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm would start to take control of the game as they would have a 15-6 quarter and take the 40-26 lead as they enter the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would do their best to get back in the game, but the deficit would be too much as they won the quarter 18-11, but the Red Storm would hold on for the win at 51-44. The winning effort for the Saranac Lake Red Storm would go to 16-7 on the season as Mik Denkenberger would lead the way with 15 points as they head into the New York State Tournament next week. The Saranac Lake Red Storm celebrated their 51-44 victory over the Beekmantown Eagles in the second game of the Champions Challenge.
