It would be a battle of former national champions from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Middlebury Panthers would travel across the lake to take on the #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they both look for an important win as they look to the NCAA Tournament, with 400 fans in attendance. The game would remain scoreless through the first period as the Panthers would get the opening goal of the game at the 3:52 mark of the second period when Avery McInerny would find the back of the net and make it a 1-0 game. The game would stay there until the 12:14 mark of the period, when the Cardinals would make it 1-1 on Bailey MacKellar's goal as they crashed the net and stuffed it home. The game would stay there through the rest of regulation, as both teams would have their chances to get the go-ahead goal but not get past the goalies, who stood tall. The game would head to overtime, where Bailey MacKellar would find the back of the net as she charged down the goalie to get the 2-1 Cardinals victory. The Eagles would waste little time in getting the opening goal of the game. Pryce Parker would knock a rebound past Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple for the 1-0 Eagles lead. The game would stay there all the way to the 3:13 mark of the 2nd period when Sam Bezio for the Hornets would beat Jack Bell and tie the game at one. From there, the teams would go back and forth for the next two periods, with both teams having their chance to score the go-ahead goal. Still, they couldn't get it online. Then at the 2:22 mark of the third period, the Eagles would retake the lead at 2-1 on the Edward Sweenor goal. Then, just 2:05 later, the Eagles would extend their lead to 3-1 when Mason Carter would add the power-play goal. Then, with just 1:52 left in the game, the Eagles would put the final touches on the game when Edward Sweenor would add his second of the game. In the Eagles' inning effort, Jack Bell would have 19 ss, and they go to 5-6-1 on the season. As for the Spartans, Teegan Vanvalkenburg would make 49 saves as they fall to 4-8 on the season. Then at the 11:33 mark of the third, the Lakers would score to take the 2-1 lead on the Kayla Doerre goal. The Cardinals would have their chances down the stretch to get the equalizer, but would have none, and the Lakers would get the 2-1 upset victory.
