Northern Adirondack Conference Baseball: Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs #10 Brushton-Moria Panthers May 15 2014
Brushton-Moria's Jake St Mary (7) with the tag on Chateaugay's Zach Cowan (2) looking to steal second base. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the #10 Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X baseball action. It would be a long day for the Bulldogs as the Panthers would jump out to a 2-0 lead after the first. Then in the second, they would get two more runs to make it 4-0 Panthers. In the third inning, they would add another run to make it 5-0. Then in the fourth, they would add four more to make it 9-0. Then in the fifth, they would explode for six runs and put the game away at 15-0. In the winning effort, Alex Brunett would go the distance for the shutout and strike out at 11. Chateaugay's Holly Zeldenrust hits the high pitch and sends it high and fire to the outfield for the base hit. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in a doubleheader of Section X action. In the opening game the Bulldogs jump out quickly getting three in each of first two innings and take a 6-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 4th when they would get two more for the 8-0. In the nightcap, the Bulldogs would cruise to victory with the 14-0 win. With the Bulldogs sweeping the doubleheader they back even on the season 4-4. Gallery

Chateaugay's Rachel Young (3) in the whind up deliveries the strike for one of her 9 strikeouts on the day. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in a doubleheader of Section X action. In the opening game the Bulldogs jump out quick getting three in each of first two innings and take a 6-0 lead. The game would stay there until the 4th when they would get two more for the 8-0. In the first game the Bulldogs would jump out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning. Then in the fourth inning everything would fall apart of the Bulldogs as they would give up 6 runs and trail 6-3. The Bulldogs would get single runs in the fourth and fifth but it wasn't enough as they would fall 7-5. In the nightcap the teams would trade runs in the first to make it 1-1. In the second inning the Lumberjacks would strike big again scoring seven times to make it 8-1. Then in the third the teams would trade runs again and fall 9-2. Malone's Alex Johnson (15) with the backhanded stop at second to take away the base hit. The Malone Huskies would host the Salmon River Shamrocks in section x action. The Huskies would take the 1-0 lead in the first on Abe Gravell sacrifice fly. In the second inning the Huskies would break the game wide open with a seven run inning to make it 8-0. Then they would keep it going in the third and score four more runs and extend the lead to 12-0. The Shamrocks would avoid the shutout in the fifth to make it 12-1. Although the Huskies would answer back in the bottom of the inning to make it 13-1 to secure the victory. In the winning effort John Brown would get the win as he went three innings striking out two and giving up two hits as the Huskies go to 3-2 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay's Rachel Young (3) battles for the loose ball along the sidelines on the scramble. The #2 Chateaugay Bulldogs would play the #3 Hermon-Dekalb Green Demons in Section X Class D Semis at SUNY Canton. The teams would play a tight first quarter and be tied at 13. In the second quarter, they would stay that way with a 9-9 quarter and be tied at 22 at halftime. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Green Demons would flex their muscle and win the quarter 13-7 to take a 35-29 lead into the fourth. In the fourth, the Bulldogs would do there best to try and make a comeback but would come up short and would fall 41-36. In the losing effort, Hannah Cook would lead the way with 11 points as the Bulldogs season comes to an end at 16-4. Gallery

Chateaugay's Seth Young (3) lays it off the window for the score to lead the team with 10 points. The #4 Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the #13 Clifton-Fine Eagles in the First Round of the Section X Class D Tournament. The Bulldogs would step on the gas early and not look back with a 34-9 lead after one. In the second quarter, they would start to let up and win the quarter 10-8 to take a 44-17 lead at the break. The Eagles would actually win the third quarter 11-8 but the Bulldogs still had a 52-28 lead. Then in the last quarter, the Bulldogs would put on the final touches with a 10-7 quarter for the 62-35 win. With the win, Seth Young would lead the way with 10 points as the Bulldogs advance to the Quarterfinals against Edwards-Knox as they go to 13-6 on the season. Gallery.
