Plattsburgh State's Kyle Cremin (20) with the backhanded stop and flip to second for the out, The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up their home portion of their schedule with a non-conference doubleheader against the Canton Kangaroos at Chip Cummings Field. The first game would start off slow as there would be no scoring til the 4th inning when the Kangaroos would get on the board with a home run by Miner for the 1-0 lead. Although the Cardinals would answer back in the bottom, of the inning with a 6 run explosion highlighted by a two rbi triple by Lent for the 6-1 game. Although Canton would work their way back into the game with a three-run fifth inning. But in the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals would take control of the game with a nine-run inning highlighted by a three rbi double by Messersch and a 15-4 lead. Then in the sixth inning, the Cardinals would get three more runs thanks to some Canton errors but an 18-4 lead. In the seventh, the Cardinals would get another four runs to expand the lead to 22-4 highlighted by a pair of rbi singles by Cremin and Digiovanni. The scoring would stop in the eighth innings as the teams would each get 1 run as the Cardinals secure the 23-5 win and go to 7-6 on the season. After a 20 minute break, it would be time for game two of the doubleheader and in the third inning, the Cardinals would get the 1-0 lead on the Geraci hit by a pitch that brought the run-in. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals would expand their lead to 2-0 on the Lent sacrifice fly. In the top of the fifth, the Kangaroos would get on the board with a two rbi single by Kapfer and tie the game. The game would stay there till the sixth when the Cardinals take the lead back at 3-2 on an error. Although the Kangaroos would tie the game again in the top of the seventh on a rbi single by Kapfer. In the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals would win the game on the walk-off walk for the 4-3 win and secure the sweep, and go to 8-6 on the season. Gallery.

It would be the season opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals lacrosse team as they would host north country opponent the Canton Kangaroos in nonconference action on a windy afternoon at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would have a 4-2 lead after the first quarter with goals from Stephen Kane (twice), Zach Gill, and Donald Wood. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would start to take control of the game with a 4-0 quarter on goals from John Eiseman (twice), Michael Swift, and Matt Trypaluk for an 8-2 Cardinals lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals firepower would be there as they would have a 7-1 quarter on goals from Stephen Kane (a third of the night), Andrew Braverman, Matt Trypaluk (second of the night), John Eiseman (a third of the game), Logan Vilardi, Gustav Rugg and Zach Gill (second of the game) and take a controlling 15-3 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the teams would tie with three goals each, and scoring for the Cardinals would be Michael Swift (second of the night), Stephen Kane (fourth and fifth of the game) as the Cardinals get the 18-6 win. In the winning effort, Zach Gill would lead the way with seven points in the game on two goals and seven assist as the Cardinals start their season at 1-0 and will head to the road this weekend to take on the Norwich Cadets. Plattsburgh State's Kerri Corcoran (4) and Canton's Alyssa Kolbe (3) go after the opening draw of the game to welcome in the 2020 Women's Lacrosse season. It would be the opening game of the spring season or so we thought it would be as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Canton Kangaroos and in a snowed filled NCAA Women's Lacrosse game. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal of the game from Kerri Corcoran. Although the rest of the half would go the way of the Canton Kangaroos as they would outscore them 8-3 and the Cardinals would trail 8-4 at the break. Scoring for the Cardinals in the first would be Kerri Corcoran (twice), Allie Vangas, and Lindsey Guzzetta. When the teams would come back for the second half the Cardinals would flip the script and win the second 8-4 and force overtime as they would be tied at 12. In the second half Frankie Porcaro, Allie Vangas (twice), Katie Kallamni (three), and Emily Caoili would score to force overtime. In the overtime period, it would go back and forth until the final minute when Frankie Porcaro would rip her second of the game to give the Cardinals the 13-12 victory. In the winning effort, goalkeepers would combine for ten saves as Allie Vangas and Katie Kallamni would each have a hat trick as the Cardinals start the season at 1-0. Gallery.

It would be a rare Friday afternoon matchup as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Canton Kangaroos in NEWHL action at the Ronald B Stafford Arena in front of 300 fans. The upstart Kangaroos would show that they came to play as they would get the opening goal of the game at 2:57 of the first period from Breanna Bedborough. Although the Cardinals turn around and come back on fire as they would get four goals to end out the period from Erin McArdle, Sara Krauseneck (twice) and Hanna Rose for the 4-1 lead. In the second period, the Cardinals would keep their foot on the accelerator as they would get four more goals from Sarah Wolfe, Abby Brush (twice), and Sara Krauseneck would get her hat trick goal for a 8-1 Cardinals lead. In the third period, the Cardinals would lighten up as they would have just a lone goal from Holly Schmelzer to secure the 9-1 victory. In the winning effort, Chloe Beaubien would make 16 saves as the Cardinals go to 16-1 on the season. The game would start off good as the Cardinals would score 14 seconds into the game on Ryan Kuhn's goal. Although the Kangaroos would tie the game up at the 9:48 mark on a power-play goal by Jesse Farabee. Then with 4:25 left in the period, the Kangaroos would take the 2-1 lead on the Max Routledge goal. In the second period at the 9:40 mark, the Cardinals would score to cut the deficit to 1 at 3-2 on the Ryan Hogg goal. Then at the 15:14 mark of the second period, the Kangaroos would score again to regain the 2 goal lead on Max Routledge's second goal of the night at 4-2. When the teams came back for the third period the Cardinals would do there best to tie the game up. They would get it within 1 at the 7:21 mark on Adam Tretowicz's goal to make it 3-2.
