SUNYAC Men's Hockey: #1 Hobart Statesmen @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 23rd 2026

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would welcome the #1 Hobart Statesmen to the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1,250 fans for the first time as conference foe The game would not start well for the home Cardinals as the Statesmen would get three goals in the first period from Easton Ryan, Tanner Daniels, and Arvega Hovsepyan as they would trail 3-0 after one. In the second period, it wouldn't be much better, as the Statesmen would get a couple more goals from Tamas Roth and Easton Ryan (second of the night), making it a 5-0 game at the end of two. In the third period, the Statesmen would finish off the bashing of the Cardinals with another pair of goals from Dominic Schimizzi and Arvega Hovespyan (second of the game) as they would fall 7-0. In the winning effort for the Statesmen Damon Beaver would make 22 saves for the shutout as they stay undeefated at 17-0 as they head to there game against Skidmore, As for the Cardinals Spry and Lane would combine for 46 saves as they fall to 8-9 and will look to right the ship tomorrow night against time foe the #3 Oswego State Lakers. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball: #12 Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 22nd 2026

Saranac Lake's Mik Denkenberger (5) drives the lane through the defenders for the score as they fall 57-54. The #12 and Champlain Valley Athletic Conference-leading Saranac Lake would travel down to take on the Plattsburgh Hornets, as we are inside three weeks left in the season. The game would start tight as both teams' shots fell, and the Hornets would lead 14-12 at the end of the first. The fast-paced offense would continue for both teams in the second quarter, as the Hornets outscored the Hornets 18-12 and took a 32-24 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm defense would be on display, holding the Hornets to just 9 points. But the Hornets' defense would be right there as well, and the Red Storm would only have 12, and it would be 41-36 Hornets headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Red Storm would give the HHornets their worst, as they tied the game a couple of times down the stretch and won the quarter 18-1. Mountain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball: #4 Bolton Eagles @ Seton Catholic Knights January 16th 2026

Bolton's Andy Morehouse (3) with the running in the lane through the traffic for the score. It would be the #4 Bolton Eagles traveling up to Plattsburgh and taking on the Seton Catholic Knights in Mountain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would start well for the Eagles, as they jumped out to a big lead after the first quarter, 23-9. In the second quarter, the Knights would do a better job of staying with the Eagles, as the Eagles led 16-12, giving them a 39-21 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Eagles would finish their shot again,n, and they would have a 19-10 quarter, taking the 58-31 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the game was played very evenly, with the Knights leading 14-12, but the Eagles held on for a 70-45 victory. NJCAA Division III Region III Men's Basketball: Finger Lakes Community College Lakers @ Clinton Commuty Cougars Januay 18th 2026

Clinton's Jeffrey Collins Weeks (4) drives the lane for the score as part of a 30-point afternoon as they fall 80-77. The Clinton Community College Cougars would host the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers at the Forrence Center as they finished off a week in which they played 4 games, 3 of them at home. It would be a game of runs throughout the first half as the Cougars would have as big a lead as ten, and then the Lakers would come back to take the lead by 6, and when the first half ended, it would be Clinton 41-37 as they looked for their second straight win. When the teams returned for the second, the Cougars would look to take control of the game, going up big. Still, the Lakers would keep fighting back,k and with 5 minutes left, they would have a 5-point lead, and the Cougars couldn't make it up as the Lakers would get the 80-77 victory. In the winning effort, the Lakers would go to 2-12 on the season. As for the Cougars, they would go to 4-10 while Jeffrey Weeks would have a 30-point night. United States Premier Hockey League Premier St Lawerence Division: Hawkesbury Knights @ New York Dynamo January 9th 2026

New York's Cade Kavanuagh (31) with a pad save as part of a 42-save night on the 6-5 victory. The New York Dynamo would be in action at the AC North Arena as they finish off a weekend homestand against the top team in the St. Lawrence division, the Hwkesbury Knights, as they make that late-season playoff push. The game would start well for the home Dynamo, as they would get the opening goal from Ashtyn Catlin at the 3:01 mark of the period. The Knights would answer just 26 seconds later on the Alexandre Maniakhine goal to make it a 1-1 game. The Dynamo would have their own answer, retaking the lead at 2-1 on a Brock Spaulding goal, and that's how the first period would end, 2-1 Dynamo. The Knights would come back to tie the game at two on the Benoit Gagnon goal at the 3-07 mark. Then at the 10:49 mark of the period, he Knights wwould takethe 3-2 lead on the Raphael Lizotte ppower-play goal Then in the 13th minute of the period the Dynamo would get two goals in 38 seconds from Elkhan Abibekov and Tanner Hamilton as they retake the 4-3 lead, Then with just 1:26 left in the period the Knights would tie for the third time thanks to Noah St-Laurent and that's how the second ended. The Knights would come out swinging in the third period, and just 15 seconds in, take the 5-4 lead thanks to Cooper Martinea. The Dynamo would not give up, though, as they came back again and tied the game at five on Colton Warren's goal at the 6:32 mark of the period. Then, with just 20 seconds left in regulation, the Dynamo would bang in the game-winner once again from Colton Warren for the 6-5 victory. In the winning effort, the Dynamo's Cade Kavanuagh made 42 saves as they improved to 13-19 on the season. NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey: Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites @ Beekmantown Eagles January 28th 2025

Beekmantown's Pryce Parker (44) with the hip check on Bellows Free Academy's Sam Spaulding (13) that sends feet over head to the ice. It would be an interstate matchup at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as the Beekmatown Eagles would host the Bellows Free Academy from Vermont on their senior night and the next-to-last game of their regular season. Bellows Free Academy would get the quick lead in the game, just 2:50 in on the William Schrienderfer goal. The game would stay there till the 8:39 mark of the period when the Eagles would tie the game up at one on the Evan Bruyette power-play goal on the wrister from just inside the blue line. The Bobwhites would strike again, though, with just 11 seconds left in the period, on William Schriendorfer's second goal of the game for the 2-1 lead at the first. The Eagles would quickly respond in the second period, just 43 seconds in, when Edward Sweenor would tie the game at two, and that would be the lone goal of the middle period. The Bowhites would regain the one-goal lead at 3-2 at the 9:25 mark of the period when Brody Tatro would score. The Eagles would keep fighting, and with just 1:42 left in the game, Edward Sweenor would strike again for his second of the game, tying the game at three, and that's where regulation would end. They would then play a five-minute overtime. Both teams would have their chances to get the game winner, but the goalies were up to the task, and the game would end tied at three. Jack Bell for the Eagles would make 31 saves on the night as they go to 11-6-2 on the season as they head into the regular season finale against the Saranac Spartans Saturday night. NCAA Women's Hockey: Suffolk Rams @ #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 17th 2026

Suffolk's Ava Buckley (7) with the top shelf netter on Plattsburgh State's Chloe Lewis (30) as it gets the Rams within three. It would be the second game of the weekend series between the #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Suffolk Rams from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 350 fans. The Rams scored the opening goal at the 5:28 mark from Katie Newkirk. From there the Cardinals woud go on a tare scoring 5 goals in the next 11 minutes coming from Riley Keller, Sydnee Francis, Molly Riggi, Emily Kasprzak and Taya Balfour to give the Cardinals the 5-1 lead after the first, In the second perriod the Cardinals would keep it coming and score at the 4:07 mark for Emily Kasprzak second of the game and make it a 6-1 game. The Rams answered back at the 7:05 and 11:50 marks of the second period from Bella Schmidt and Ava Buckley to make it a 6-3 game. The Cardinals would have another answer at the 17:55 mark from Kate Conlon to make it a 7-3 game, and that's where the second period would end. The Cardinals would add one more in the third period from Piper Smith, as they cruised to an 8-3 win. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Chloe Lewis would make 8 saves on the night as they go to 9-5-1 as they head back into conference play. Plattsburgh State's Gabriel Filion (22) scored the goal that stuffs in the net for the 2-0 lead. It would be the second game of the weekend, with a pair of North Country foes, as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Potsdam State Bears at the Ronald B. Stafford Arena in front of 1,445 fans. The Cardinals would strike quickly, just 2:02 into the game, on Jake Sacratini's goal for a 1-0 lead. The game would sgo untilthe 1:25 mark of the second period, when the Cardinals would strike again, this time on the ppower play, for the Gabriel Filion goal and make it 2-0 The Cardinals would strike for their second powerplay goal of the period, this time from Vladislav Pshenichikov at the 9:13 mar,k and make it 3-0 Cardinal The Bears would finally answer back at the 6:30 mark of the third period on the Owen Watson goal to make it 3-1. From there, the Cardinals' defense would stand tall,l and they would get the 3-1 victor. Brady Spry would make 37 saves as they go to 8-8 on the season. NCAA Women's Hockey: Suffolk Rams @ #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 16th 2026

Plattsburgh State's Emily Kasprzak (22) with the clean open ice hit on Suffolk's Julia Holmes in the open ice as they go after the puck. The #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return to the Ronald Stafford Ice Arena for the first time in two months with a non-conference tilt against the Suffolk Rams in front of 300 fans. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game at the 7:12 mark of the first period when Zoe Puc would find the back of the nnetfor the 1-0 lead. The Rams would fight back and tie the game at the 11:40 mark of the period, when Bella Schmidt scored to make it a-1 The Cardinals would come back and regain the lead at 2-1 on a power-play goal by Seeyoung Yoo at the 17:30 mark of the first. In the second period, the Cardinals would get the lone goal of the period at the 11:34 mark when Kayson Ruegge scored a shorthanded marker to make it 3- The game would stay there till the 10:06 mark of the third when Kayson Ruegge would net her second of the game to increase the lead to 4-1 Then just a minute later Brooke Terry would score for the Cardinals to make it a 5-1 game. The Cardinals ended their three-minute blitz with a goal from Emily Kasprzak to make it 6-1, and they would cruise to the win. In the Cardinals' winning effort, Chloe Lewis made 14 saves as they went to 8-5 on the season. SUNYAC Men's Hockey: Canton Kangaroos @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 16th 2026

Canton's Alexander Colton (17) scored the first-period goal to give the Kangaroos a 1-0 lead. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return home for the first time in a couple of weeks, and they would host North Country for the Canton Kangaroos in SUNYAC action in front of 1269 fans at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. The upset-minded Kangaroos would get the first goal of the game from Colton Alexander on the power play at the 15:03 mark of the period. The Kangaroos would waste little time in extending their lead to 2-0 on the Scott Cremen goal just two minutes later to make it 2-0. The game would stay there all the way to the 3:51 mark of the third period when Jake Sacratini would score for the Cardinals and make it a 2-1 game. From there, the Cardinals would give them everything they had for the rest of the period, going for the tying goal, but it wouldn't come, and the Kangaroos would get the empty-netter in the closing minute from Alexander Colton as they secured the 3-1 win. In the winning effort, Trey Miller made 43 saves as they went to 6-8 on the season. As the Cardinals would combine for 22 saves, they fall to 7-8-1 on the season.
