It would be the rematch of last year's Section VII Championship game as the Saranac Spartans would host the Beekmantown Eagles at the AC North Arena The game would remain scoreless until the 1:03 mark of the second period, when the Eagles would get the opening goal from Evan Bruyere and take the 1-0 lead The Spartans would waste little time tying the game at the 6:13 mark of the period when Gabe Moore would hit the back of the net, and that's where the second period would end, tied at one. Then at the 2:22 mark of the third period, the Eagles would retake the lead at 2-1 on the Edward Sweenor goal. Then, just 2:05 later, the Eagles would extend their lead to 3-1 when Mason Carter would add the power-play goal. Then, with just 1:52 left in the game, the Eagles would put the final touches on the game when Edward Sweenor would add his second of the game. In the Eagles' inning effort, Jack Bell would have 19 ss, and they go to 5-6-1 on the season. As for the Spartans, Teegan Vanvalkenburg would make 49 saves as they fall to 4-8 on the season. The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday with another conference game against the Plattsburgh Hornets. As for the Saranac Spartans, they will have a non-conference game on Friday. Gallery

It would be the #13 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Oswego State Lakers from the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena, with 300 fans braving the bitter cold. The game would remain scoreless until the 7:37 mark of the second period, when the Cardinals would break through with a goal from Bailey MacKellar. The game would stay there until the 5:31 mark of the third period, when Lakers Georgia Cunliffe would score a top-shelfer to tie the game at 1. Then at the 11:33 mark of the third, the Lakers would score to take the 2-1 lead on the Kayla Doerre goal. The Cardinals would have their chances down the stretch to get the equalizer, but would have none, and the Lakers would get the 2-1 upset victory. In the winning effort, the Lakers' Mia Devivomadee made 30 saves as they went to 10-7 on the season. SUNYAC Men's Hockey: #3 Oswego State Lakers @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 24th 2026

Plattsburgh State's Alexandro Moliner (9) gets the opening goal just 52 seconds into the game for the Cardinals' 1-0 lead. It would be the classic rivalry, renewing itself: Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Oswego State Lakers, with 14,500 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The home Cardinals would waste little time getting the opening goal of the game, just 54 seconds in, on a goal by Alexandro Moliner for the 1-0 lead, and the stress ball was released. Releasedust 90 seconds later, the Cardinals would make it 2-0 on the Spencer Bellina goal, and the upset-minded Cardinals were cooking. Then, at the 9:15 mark of the first, the Lakers would cut the deficit in half as Matt McQuade scored to make it 2-1. The game would stay there until 22 seconds into the second, when the Cardinals would regain the two-goal lead at 3-1 on Quinn Tavares' goal. Then at the 7:22 mark, the Cardinals would extend ttheirlead to 4-1 when Felix-Antoine Parenteau would score The game would stay there till the last 7 minutes of the second period when the Lakers would go on a four goal blitz from Tommy Bannister (shorthanded goal), Connor Gatto, Josh Simpson, and Matt McQuade (powerplay goal) and take the 5-4 lead. In the third period, the Cardinals shaded their chances to tie the game but couldn't get the game-tying goal, and the Lakers held on for the 5-4 win. In the win, the Lakers improved to 13-2-1, as Manzi and Milberg combined for 27 saves. As for the Cardinals, Spry would make 24 saves as they fall to 8-10 on the season and head to Cortland and Morrisville next weekend. Gallery

The #13 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would start their weekend SUNYAC homestand with fellow North Country member, the Canton Kangaroos, in front of 300 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would be tough for the Cardinal offense and the Kangaroos defense, as the Cardinals would put 40 shots on net but be able only to get 1 by Canton's Molly Lenihan, as Piper Smith would get the lone goal for the Cardinals at the 15:31 mark of the third period, as they would get the 1-0 victory. In the Cardinals' winning effort, Chloe Lewis made 17 saves for the shutout, as they go to 10-5 on the season, while Canton falls to 9-6-1. Plattsburgh's Ava Weiss (14) drives the baseline and takes the runner over the defender for the score. It would be the #17 Peru Nighthawks traveling to the next town over and taking on the Plattsburgh Hornets as they look to stay undefeated inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference. The game would be tight through the first quarter as both teams were feeling each other out and were tied at 10. In the second quarter, though, we would see the true Nighthawks come out, as they would have a 21-7 quarter to take a convincing 31-17 lead into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the second half, the Hornets would do their best to keep it close, but they couldn't get any closer, as the Nighthawks led 20-15 at halftime and secured the 51-32 victory. In the Nighthawks' winning effort, they go to 12-2 on the season, while the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 8-6. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would welcome the #1 Hobart Statesmen to the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1,250 fans for the first time as conference foe The game would not start well for the home Cardinals as the Statesmen would get three goals in the first period from Easton Ryan, Tanner Daniels, and Arvega Hovsepyan as they would trail 3-0 after one. In the second period, it wouldn't be much better, as the Statesmen would get a couple more goals from Tamas Roth and Easton Ryan (second of the night), making it a 5-0 game at the end of two. In the third period, the Statesmen would finish off the bashing of the Cardinals with another pair of goals from Dominic Schimizzi and Arvega Hovespyan (second of the game) as they would fall 7-0. In the winning effort for the Statesmen Damon Beaver would make 22 saves for the shutout as they stay undeefated at 17-0 as they head to there game against Skidmore, As for the Cardinals Spry and Lane would combine for 46 saves as they fall to 8-9 and will look to right the ship tomorrow night against time foe the #3 Oswego State Lakers. Saranac Lake's Mik Denkenberger (5) drives the lane through the defenders for the score as they fall 57-54. The #12 and Champlain Valley Athletic Conference-leading Saranac Lake would travel down to take on the Plattsburgh Hornets, as we are inside three weeks left in the season. The game would start tight as both teams' shots fell, and the Hornets would lead 14-12 at the end of the first. The fast-paced offense would continue for both teams in the second quarter, as the Hornets outscored the Hornets 18-12 and took a 32-24 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Red Storm defense would be on display, holding the Hornets to just 9 points. But the Hornets' defense would be right there as well, and the Red Storm would only have 12, and it would be 41-36 Hornets headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Red Storm would give the HHornets their worst, as they tied the game a couple of times down the stretch and won the quarter 18-1. The Hornets would hold on for the 57-54 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets get back to .500 on the season at 5-5, while the Red Storm falls to 11-2. Gallery

It would be the #4 Bolton Eagles traveling up to Plattsburgh and taking on the Seton Catholic Knights in Mountain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would start well for the Eagles, as they jumped out to a big lead after the first quarter, 23-9. In the second quarter, the Knights would do a better job of staying with the Eagles, as the Eagles led 16-12, giving them a 39-21 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Eagles would finish their shot again,n, and they would have a 19-10 quarter, taking the 58-31 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the game was played very evenly, with the Knights leading 14-12, but the Eagles held on for a 70-45 victory. The Clinton Community College Cougars would host the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers at the Forrence Center as they finished off a week in which they played 4 games, 3 of them at home. It would be a game of runs throughout the first half as the Cougars would have as big a lead as ten, and then the Lakers would come back to take the lead by 6, and when the first half ended, it would be Clinton 41-37 as they looked for their second straight win. When the teams returned for the second, the Cougars would look to take control of the game, going up big. Still, the Lakers would keep fighting back,k and with 5 minutes left, they would have a 5-point lead, and the Cougars couldn't make it up as the Lakers would get the 80-77 victory. In the winning effort, the Lakers would go to 2-12 on the season. As for the Cougars, they would go to 4-10 while Jeffrey Weeks would have a 30-point night. The New York Dynamo would be in action at the AC North Arena as they finish off a weekend homestand against the top team in the St. Lawrence division, the Hwkesbury Knights, as they make that late-season playoff push. The game would start well for the home Dynamo, as they would get the opening goal from Ashtyn Catlin at the 3:01 mark of the period. The Knights would answer just 26 seconds later on the Alexandre Maniakhine goal to make it a 1-1 game. The Dynamo would have their own answer, retaking the lead at 2-1 on a Brock Spaulding goal, and that's how the first period would end, 2-1 Dynamo. The Knights would come back to tie the game at two on the Benoit Gagnon goal at the 3-07 mark. Then at the 10:49 mark of the period, he Knights wwould takethe 3-2 lead on the Raphael Lizotte ppower-play goal Then in the 13th minute of the period the Dynamo would get two goals in 38 seconds from Elkhan Abibekov and Tanner Hamilton as they retake the 4-3 lead, Then with just 1:26 left in the period the Knights would tie for the third time thanks to Noah St-Laurent and that's how the second ended. The Knights would come out swinging in the third period, and just 15 seconds in, take the 5-4 lead thanks to Cooper Martinea. The Dynamo would not give up, though, as they came back again and tied the game at five on Colton Warren's goal at the 6:32 mark of the period. Then, with just 20 seconds left in regulation, the Dynamo would bang in the game-winner once again from Colton Warren for the 6-5 victory. In the winning effort, the Dynamo's Cade Kavanuagh made 42 saves as they improved to 13-19 on the season. As for the Hawkesbury Knights, William Thibodeau would make 25 saves as they fall to 27-6 on the season. Gallery
