#1 Saranac Spartans Vs #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars November 1st 2024
The Northeastern Clinton Cougars are crowned the 2024 Section VII Class B Girls Soccer champions after winning the game in penalty kicks. It would be the section VII Class B Girl's Soccer championship from Suny Plattsburgh State Fied house, and it would feature the top two seeds with the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the #1 Sarana Spartans for the right to enter the New York State Girls Soccer championship. Both teams would have their chances throughout the evening, but neither team would be able to score through regulation, and over time, neither team would be able to get the ball in the net. So the game would need to head to penalty kicks, and in the seventh round, we would get our winner as the Northeastern Clinton Cougars would get the win. And go to 6-8-2 on the season as they will play #2 Mechanicville in the opening round of the New York State Tournament. The Saranac Spartans' season will end on 7-6-3 the season. Gallery
Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Girl's Soccer: #16 Saranac Spartans @ #20 Plattsburgh Hornets September 21st 2024

Plattsburgh's Amaya Abellard (13) with the goal as she beats Saranac's Latla Pellerin (1) for the goal. We would have a match-up inside the top of Girl's Soccer action for Section All, be it one team from Class A and the other from B inside Section VII, as the #20 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #16 Saranac Chiefs in their last game of the regular season. The home Hornets would get off to the early lead on the 6th-minute goal from Bailey Hewson to give them the early 1-0 lead. The Hornets would waste little time expanding their lead to 2-0 on Bailey Hewson's second goal of the game in the 18th minute, and that's how the scoring would end for the 1st half. Then, when the teams returned for the second half, the Hornets would take control of the game in the 48th minute when Amaya Abellard scored to take the 3-0 lead, and that's where the scoring would end. In the winning effort, the Plattsburgh Hornets would finish their regular season at 12-3 and enter the Section VII Class A playoffs as the #2 seed. It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans as part of their homecoming weekend and their last home game of the regular season. The game would start slow, with no scoring in the first quarter. The Spartans would get the game's opening score 32 seconds into the second quarter on a River Poulin 9-yard run for the 6-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 9:14 mark of the quarter when the Hornets would block the Spartan's punt attempt, and it would roll out the back of the endzone for the Hornet's safety, making it a 6-2 game. Then, in the final 30 seconds of the half, the Hornets would take the lead on a 29-yard strike to Braeden Calkins and take the 8-6 lead to the locker room. The Spartans would not go quietly and retake the lead at 14-8 on a 1-yard run by River Poulin to take the lead 14-8 at the 2:11 mark. Then, at the 6:11 mark of the third quarter, the Spartans would extend their lead to 22-8 on the 2-yard run by Zack Lucia. In the closing minutes of the third, the Hornets would cut the lead in half on the Dominic Deangelo score to make it 22-16 game. The game would stay there till the 5:48 mark of the fourth when Dominic Deangelo would score again, this time on a 56-yard pass and catch to make it a 22-22 game coming down the stretch. Then, with 12 seconds left in the game, the Hornets would drive down, hit Braeden Calkins for the 2-yard pass, and get the 28-22 victory. Plattsburgh's Nate Baker (4) flies through the air for the shot attempt on the net as Saranac's (11) does his best to break up the play. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer from the Plattsburgh High Sports Complex. The Hornets would get the scoring going first with a goal in the 6th minute from number 6 for the 1-0 lead. Then, in the 23rd minute, the Hornets would extend their lead to 2-0 on another goal. The Spartans would keep fighting and answer back in the 34 minute on the Michael Strack goal to make it a 2-1 game, but the Hornets would answer right back in the same minute to regain the two-goal lead at 3-1. The Spartans would keep fighting throughout the second half, making it a one-goal game at 3-2 in the 63rd minute. Although the Hornets would be able to fend off the challenges by the Spartans and get the win and go to 7-1P-1 on the season while the Spartans fall to 5-2-1 on the season. Gallery

Saranac's Branigan Boulds (10) watches the ball into the hands for the catch and big play for the Spartans. It would be the second week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. Still, it would be the first conference game for both teams as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Spartans as they were both looking to get their conference season going right off the back. The Eagles would control the ball for most of the first quarter and would get the opening score of the game at the 10:37 mark of the quarter on a 5-yard run by Parker Broughton for the 8-0 Eagles lead. The Eagles would waste little time getting the ball back and marching it down the field as Parker Broughton would score again this time on a 47-yard strike to give the Eagles the 15-0 lead just 1:25 into the second quarter. Then with just over three minutes left in the half, the Eagles would break the game open on a 93-yard pass and catch to Patrick Hagadorn for the 22-0 Eagles lead and that's where they would end the first half. When the teams returned for the second half it would be more of the same as the Eagles would stay on the gas and extend the lead to 29-0 at the midway mark of the third period on the short run by Shamus Bibeau. The game would stay there till the 3:43 mark of the fourth quarter when Shamus Bibeau would score again on the short run to give the Eagles the 35-0 lead and victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles go to 1-1 on the season as they will host the Massena Red Raiders next week in non-conference action. As for the Saranac Spartans, they will head home for their home opener against the Moriah Vikings as they look to shake their 0-2 start.Gallery

Plattsburgh's shortstop charges the grounder and fires across for the out. It would be an early season matchup inside of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans. The game would start well for the Spartans as they opened the first inning with three runs for the 3-0 lead. In the second inning, the Spartans would add another four running as they would start to take control with the 7-0 lead. In the third inning, they would break it out with a six-run inning and take the 13-0 lead. In the fourth inning, they would add another five runs to expand the lead to 18-0. Before adding a single run in the fifth to secure the 19-0 win. In the winning effort, the Saranac Spartans stay undefeated on the season while the Plattsburgh Hornets suffer their first loss of the season and go to 2-1 on the season. Gallery
