Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Plattsburgh Hornets February 1st 2023

It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. It would be a tight game throughout the first quarter and the Hornets would have a slim 13-12 after the first. In the second quarter, the game would still be a see-saw affair but the Hornets would win the quarter slightly at 16-12 and take the 29-24 lead into the halftime break. When the teams would return for the third the Red Storm would make the adjustments and come out rolling and win the quarter 18-12 and take the slim one-point lead into the fourth quarter at 42-41. In that fourth quarter, the Red Storm would stay hot and pull away with a 19-12 quarter to secure the 61-53 victory. In the winning effort, the Red Storm go to 10-7 on the season and will next travel to Northern Adirondack Bobcats next week as the season starts to come to a close. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. It would be a tight game throughout the first quarter and the Hornets would have a slim 13-12 after the first. In the second quarter, the game would still be a see-saw affair but the Hornets would win the quarter slightly at 16-12 and take the 29-24 lead into the halftime break. When the teams would return for the third the Red Storm would make the adjustments and come out rolling and win the quarter 18-12 and take the slim one-point lead into the fourth quarter at 42-41. Peru Nighthawks @ Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball January 18th 2023

It would be the classic rivalry inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boy's Basketball action. Both teams were looking for their first win of the season inside the conference didn't make the competition any less exciting. It would start off great for the home Hornets as their offense was firing on all cylinders and would have a 24-10 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would be more equal although the Hornets would still be able to extend their lead with a 13-9 quarter and take a 37-19 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the offense for the Hornets would stay hot as they would have a 19-11 quarter and take the commanding lead into the 4th quarter at 56-30. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would take their foot off the gas as they would finish out the game with an 11-9 quarter for the Nighthawks but the Hornets would have a comfortable lead and get the 65-41 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 3-6 on the season as they travel to Ausable Valley on Friday as the Nighthawks fall to 1-9 on the season. Gallery

Clinton Community College Holiday Classic: Boquet Valley Griffins Vs Saranac Chiefs December 28th 2022

Saranac's Caden Clark (24) with the one-handed shot along the baseline for the score. It would be the last game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would pit the Saranac Chiefs and Boquet Valley Griffins with the winner being named the boy portions champion. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would be on fire and have a 20-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would stay hot but the Griffins would find their stroke the Chiefs would win the quarter 20-16 and take a 40-19 lead into halftime. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would continue their hot hand with a 23-4 quarter and take a 63-23 lead into the 4th quarter. In that 4th quarter with the winning a forgone conclusion the Chiefs would win the quarter 16-7 and get the convincing 70-39 victory. With the win, the Saranac Chiefs win the boy's portion of the 2022 Holiday Classic making it a clean sweep for the Saranac Chiefs at the Holiday Classic the boy's team would go to 4-5 on the season and the Griffins fall to 3-3 on the year. It would be the last game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would pit the Saranac Chiefs and Boquet Valley Griffins with the winner being named the boy portions champion. Clinton Community College Holiday Classic: Crown Point Panthers Vs Seton Catholic Knights December 28th 2022

Seton Catholic's Aiden Pearl (22) and Trevor Harris rise up for the tip to get the overtime period under way. It would be the second game of the day at the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Seton Catholic Knights would meet up with the Crown Point Panthers. It would look like a couple of evenly matched teams through the first quarter as the Panthers would have the slim 11-9 lead. In the second quarter, the Panthers would show their might with a 16-8 quarter and take a 27-17 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Knights would start to make their comeback as they would win the quarter 14-12 but still trail 39-31 as they headed to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would step up their defense and have a 10-2 quarter and force the overtime tied at 41. In that overtime it would be tight throughout as the Panthers would win 7-5 and get the 48-46 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers went 1-1 at the Holiday Classic and are 7-1 on the season as the Knights went 0-2 at the Holiday Classic and are 2-5 on the season. Gallery

Clinton Community College Holiday Classic: Crown Point Panthers Vs Boquet Valley Griffins December 27th 2022

It would be the third game of the day on the opening day of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Crown Point Panthers and the Boquet Valley Griffins in a rematch of last season's section vii class d finals and it would be seen way throughout the game. It would be a very even game from the start so even that it would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, there still would be no separation as they would tie at twelve for the quarter and go into the intermission tied at 22. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be seen that the Panthers had regrouped their approach and would have a 22-14 quarter and take a 44-36 lead into the final quarter. In that final quarter, it would be low scoring but the Panthers would win the quarter at 9-6 and hold on for the 53-42 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers would now take on the Saranac Chiefs on December 28th as they would go for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic title and go to 6-1 on the season as the Griffins fall to 3-2 on the season.
