FONDA, N.Y. — The 2025 Versus Monster Truck Tour came to a spectacular conclusion Saturday night as the series made its first-ever stop at the legendary Fonda Speedway, welcoming a packed house of excited fans for the season finale. Six of the tour's premier monster trucks were on hand to battle for bragging rights in the final event of the year. The lineup featured Joe Fly, driven by Jordan Headley; Hurricane Force, driven by Steven Thompson; Rat Nasty, driven by Ryan Como; Loud and Drty, driven by Perry Como; Crushstation, driven by Greg Wichenbach; and Lumberjack, driven by Zach Winchenbach. Fans were also treated to tough truck action from the Adirondack Jeep Club, which provided nonstop entertainment throughout the evening. The night began with qualifying to determine the racing bracket, and it was Steven Thompson in Hurricane Force who laid down the fastest lap of the session to earn the top spot heading into competition. As side-by-side racing got underway, the field battled through several rounds before the championship matchup came down to Hurricane Force and Lumberjack. In a thrilling final race, Zach Winchenbach powered the Lumberjack to the finish line first, capturing the racing championship in front of the enthusiastic Fonda crowd. The action then shifted to the Best Trick Competition, where drivers attacked the specially designed stoppie ramp in search of the night's most memorable moment. Several impressive attempts had fans on their feet, but Steven Thompson delivered the winning move. Thompson expertly balanced Hurricane Force on its nose and walked the truck forward on the front tires, earning the Best Trick victory. The finale concluded with the crowd-favorite Freestyle Competition, and the drivers did not disappoint. Jordan Headley set the tone early in Joe Fly, thrilling fans with a massive backflip that immediately sent the grandstands into a frenzy. Each competitor pushed harder than the last, but when the dust settled, it was Zach Winchenbach and Lumberjack who stole the spotlight. Combining incredible speed, huge air, and an aggressive nonstop attack on the track, Winchenbach delivered the performance of the night to earn the Freestyle championship. As the final engines fell silent, the curtain officially closed on another exciting season of Versus Monster Truck Tour competition. The Franklin County Fair Pro Rodeo thundered back into town for its first appearance since 2018, delivering a hard‑hitting afternoon of competition as the Painted Pony Championship Rodeo returned for its third edition. Sanctioned by the IPRA, every cowboy and cowgirl in the arena was chasing critical points toward a coveted trip to the World Finals in Oklahoma later this fall, raising the stakes for every ride, run, and throw. Bareback riding opened the show with three competitors battling the broncs. Two made the full eight seconds, but Tim Murphy’s powerful 77‑point ride stood above the rest to claim the event win. Team roping followed at the far end of the arena, with ten duos taking their shot at the clock. The drama came down to the final team out as Doug Casey and Michael Soule stopped the timers at 9.4 seconds to steal the victory. Saddle Bronc riding brought six competitors back to the chutes, each chasing points and payout. Jack Smithon delivered the winning ride with a score in the mid‑70s, edging out a tough field. Breakaway roping — one of rodeo’s fastest‑growing events — saw eleven ladies take aim at the win. Rebekah Legan set the tone early with a blistering 2.1‑second run, a number no one else could touch. Calf roping kept the momentum rolling with eleven cowboys in the draw. Once again, the final run of the afternoon proved decisive as Justin Thigpen laid down the best time to secure the event. Steer wrestling brought eight bulldoggers into the arena, but the steers had the upper hand. Only one cowboy managed to get his steer to the dirt — Corey Webb — earning the win through sheer determination. The ladies’ barrel racing was scheduled to close the afternoon, but unfavorable arena conditions forced its cancellation. That left bull riding as the final showdown. Four cowboys climbed down onto the bulls, each hoping to conquer eight seconds of chaos. Only Turner Morris made the horn sound, claiming the win as the crowd erupted. Fans left the grandstands buzzing, hopeful that the Franklin County Fair won’t wait another eight years before bringing the Pro Rodeo back for its fourth edition. Gallery

Jason Quenneville (813) with the pass on the lowside of Matthew Wade (510) for the lead and eventual win in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman Modified. Stove Depot Night at the Prelude to the 2025 championship took place at Devil's Bowl Speedway, featuring the Sunoco Sportsman Modified, O'Reilly Auto Limited Sportsman Modified, Hoosier Novice Sportsman Modified, Friends Construction 500cc Mini Sprints, Fisher Auto Parts Mini Stocks, Crown Vics, and Enduro Series all in action. After the heat races, the first feature of the night was the Sunoco Sportsman Modified, where a three-way battle for most of the 30 laps involved Frank Hoard III, Vince Quenneville, and Jim Nagle, all vying for their first win of the season at the track. Ultimately, Vince Quenneville powered past Jim Nagle to take the victory, with Derrick McGrew Jr. finishing third. Next was the O'Reilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman 25-lap event, a contest between two championship contenders with two races remaining. Jason Quenneville secured his first win of the season, extending his points lead. The Hoosier Novice Sportsman Modified 20-lap race saw James McLellan lead from the start, but mid-pack charger Aiden Benoure overtook him in the closing laps to earn his second win of the season. The Friend Construction 500cc Mini Sprints 15-lap race resulted in Quinn Quenneville’s first win of the year, completing the Quenneville family’s triple on the night as he advanced from mid-pack. In the Fisher Auto Parts Mini Stocks, the first of two feature races, Chase Allen, making one of his first starts of the season from the back, charged through the field to win. The second Mini Stock feature saw Kaleb Shepard make a comeback from the back, racing alongside Jon Jordan for the win, with Shepard ultimately prevailing. The 20-lap Crown Vic event was contested between top points leaders TJ Knight and Eric Friend, with Knight securing the victory and both heading into the final race of the season tied. To conclude the evening, a 50-lap Enduro saw Dan Desforges start 21st, charge through the field, take the lead within a few laps, and walk away to claim his second season win. Beekmantown's Santino DeBella (15) drives by the defender for the score as he lays it off the window as part of a six-point night. It would be the final game of the opening night of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and the Malone Huskies in Boys' Basketball action. It would be high-paced offense from both teams as the game got underway, and the Huskies would lead 3-13 after one. The Eagles would do a better job of keeping it close in the second quarter, but the Huskies would still win the quarter 17-12 and take the 40-25 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter, the Huskies started to pull away, outscoring the Cougars 20-8 to take a 60-33 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Huskies would put the game away with a 17-11 quarter and secure the 77-44 victory. In the Huskies' effort, Ryan Heseltine led the way with 18 points. As for the Eagles, Garret Pelkey would lead the way with 12 points as they fall to 1-5 on the season. Gallery

Malone's Brynn Leclair (3) comes flying down the lane to get a finger on the ball to block the shot of Grace LaMountain to keep the Huskies in the game. It would be the third game of the day from the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, and girls would be back on the court this time as the Plattsburgh Hornets would challenge the Malone Huskies. The game would be slow out of the gate, as defense would be the name of the game, as the Hornets would hold the slim 4-3 lead after the first eight minutes. In the second quarter, there would be a bit more offense, but defense would still be tough as the Hornets would have an 8-6 quarter and take the 12-9 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, they were re-grouped, and the offenses would be on display as the Huskies took the quarter 17-13 and the slim 26-25 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, the game would come right down to the wire, and the Huskies couldn't get a rebound to have a chance down the stretch, as the Hornets would win the quarter 6-4 and secure the 31-30 victory. In the winning effort for the Hornets, Ava Weiss led the way with 11 points as the Hornets got back to 500 at 3-3 on the season. The second game of the day for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic would feature the Saranac Spartans and the Willsboro Wolves. The game would start well for the Spartans, who jumped out to a 21-3 lead after the first quarter, as the Wolves had no answer for the Spartans' quick pace. In the second quarter, the Spartans would keep their foot off the gas with a 16-7 quarter and take a 37-10 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, it was more of the same for the Spartans, who led 37-17 and cruised to a 74-27 victory. In the winning effort for the Spartans, Carson Duffield led the way with 16 points as they went to 4-3 on the season.
