MALONE, N.Y. — The New York Tractor Pullers Association (NYTPA) made its annual return to the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Sunday afternoon, bringing some of the Northeast's top truck and tractor pullers to a packed grandstand crowd. A total of 32 entries across five divisions put on a spectacular show of horsepower and determination as competitors battled for top honors on the Franklin County track. The event featured Super Stock Tractors, Super Farm Tractors, Limited Pro Stock Tractors, Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks, and Super Stock 4x4 Trucks. The first class to take to the track was the Super Stock Tractors. Despite a small field of three competitors, the class produced an entertaining battle. Veteran puller Rick Eakins used his experience at the Malone track to his advantage, guiding Shelby to the victory over High Hopes and Foolish Highlander. Next came the powerful Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks, where six competitors answered the call. The crowd roared as Howling Wolf put together the run of the class, becoming the only truck to surpass the 300-foot mark. The impressive pass secured the victory over Josh Perry and Sneaky Pete. The Super Farm Tractor division produced one of the most competitive classes of the afternoon, with eight entries taking their shot at the sled. It proved to be a banner day for John Deere machines as they claimed the top two positions. In a tight battle, Jason Van De Weert piloted 44 Special Reloaded to the victory by just two feet over Karl Durant and Big Game. The competition heated up even more in the Limited Pro Stock Tractor division. Six entries took part, but it quickly became clear that anyone failing to reach 300 feet would not be in contention. Four competitors eclipsed the mark, setting up a thrilling finish. In the end, Andre Bourdeau and Secret Weapon claimed the win by six feet over Jeff Dana and Borderline to Heaven. The evening concluded with the fan-favorite Super Stock 4x4 Trucks, which drew a strong field of nine competitors. The class came down to the final hook of the night as the leaders continued to swap positions. When the dust settled, Dan Komarony and All Bottled Up delivered the winning run, finishing eight feet ahead of Jon Zakarauskas and The Hulk. The Franklin County Fair stop marked another successful event for the NYTPA as competitors and fans alike enjoyed an afternoon filled with horsepower and close competition. The association now turns its attention to the Washington County Fair in Greenwich, New York, on August 29, following a brief break while many teams focus on the prestigious National Tractor Pulling Championships in Bowling Green, Ohio, scheduled for August 19-22. MORRISONVILLE, N.Y. — The annual Truck and Tractor Pull at the Clinton County Fair took on special meaning this year as it was renamed the Owen Poirier Shootout, honoring the memory of former Chazy Central School student Owen Poirier, whose life was lost far too soon. The event brought together pullers from across the region for a night of horsepower and fierce competition in front of a strong fair crowd. A full slate of 10 classes competed throughout the evening, featuring everything from Stock Trucks and Tractors to Hot Farm Tractors, Altered Stock Tractors, Super Stock Trucks, and Diesel Truck divisions. The featured attraction of the night was the highly anticipated 3.0 Diesel Truck Shootout, where competitors battled for the top prize of $1,500 and the honor of becoming the first-ever Owen Poirier Shootout champion. Throughout the night, fans were treated to tremendous performances as competitors pushed their machines to the limit on the Clinton County Fair track. Pull after pull kept the crowd engaged as distances climbed and the battle for victory intensified. When the dust finally settled, it was Baierlien Bones that stood above the rest. Delivering a tremendous pull of 308 feet, Baierlien Bones claimed the victory in the premier 3.0 Diesel Shootout division and took home the $1,500 winner's purse, becoming the inaugural champion of the Owen Poirier Shootout. The successful debut of the event provided a fitting tribute to Owen Poirier while showcasing some of the best truck and tractor pulling action the region has to offer. Organizers and competitors alike praised the evening's turnout and competition, and plans are already underway to make the second edition of the Owen Poirier Shootout even bigger and better in the years to come. Blue Thunder III and Stever Fraser thunder down the track at 262 feet for the Modified Tractor win. The New York Tractor Pullers returned to the Clinton County Fair in Plattsburgh for the second consecutive year, packing the grandstands with fans eager for horsepower and noise. Four divisions—Limited Pro Tractors, Super Stock Diesel, Modified Tractors, and Modified Trucks—took center stage on a warm summer night. The Super Stock Diesels opened the program, where Code Red, driven by Ken Jamieson, set the tone with a 280‑foot pass. Mechanical trouble sidelined Old Black Witch and Mike Bain, giving Jamieson the victory and leaving the two tied atop the early‑season standings. Four machines rolled out for the Modified Tractors. Heaven Can Wait with Ken Angell posted the first mark at 246.26 feet, but Blue Thunder III and Steven Fraser quickly reset the bar with a strong 262.70‑foot run. Underestimated (Jeremy Smith) and the final entry both gave chase but came up roughly nine feet short. The Limited Pro Tractors produced one of the night’s biggest moments as Joey St. Mary and Cowboy Cattltleaic blasted out the back door with a massive 340‑foot pull. The remaining five competitors tried to reel him in, but Secret Weapon and Andre Bourdeau were the closest—still 28 feet off the winning distance. The Modified Trucks closed the show with six entries battling for bragging rights. Ma and Pa Headache set the early pace at 309 feet before Mad Dog and Todd Jarvis stormed past with a 321‑foot run. The final trio attempted to answer, but Yellow Fever settled for second, ten feet behind the leader. Jonathan Zakarauskas and The Hulk take the win in the Super Stock 4x4 Trucks by 4 inches over Mad Dog to start the season. It would be the opening hook of the 2025 season for the New York State Tractor Pullers Association, and they would return to the Clinton County Fair in Plattsburgh, New York, for the first time in over 25 years. They would bring 4 of their top divisions with the Super Stock 4x4 Trucks, Modified Tractors, Super Stock Diesel, and the Limited Pro 4.1 Diesel Tractors in front of a packed house. There would be problems with the track throughout the night because the new clay laid before the fair had not had time to settle. After the first class, the New York Tractor Pullers would actually flip the track and pull in the opposite direction. The first class out of the gate would be the Super Stock 4x4 Trucks, and it would see eight of the best hook to the new clay, and when the dust settled, The Hulk and Jonathan Zakarauskas would get the win by 4 inches over Mad Dog and Todd Jarvis, and just 4.5 feet over White Lightning and Alex Otis. Then it would be the Limited Pro 4.1 Tractors, and there would be ten that would show up to start the season, and the win would go to No Common Cents without question, as he would win the class by over 15 feet on Pure Breed Red and Tyler Audet. Then next up would be the Super Stock Diesel, and they would have 11 in the class, and the win would go to the nameless Chris Komarony with a pull of 318.86 to beat out Burt Stannard and Determination by over ten feet. Then, to finish out the night, it would be the mighty Modified Tractors, and they would be bringing three of the best for the crowd, and the New Yorker and Lee Bement would get the win over Heaven Can Wait and Ken Angell by nine feet. That would end the night of pulling and the return of the New York Tractor Pullers to the Clinton County Fair. Terry Martineau (0) and Kyle Doner (85) go back to back during one of the heats for the Stock Compact divisions and it folds the trunk of the Doner car right up. It would be the annual return of the Demolition Derby at the Clinton County Fair and there would be around 100 entries in the pits to part in everything from the lawn tractors to the Economy Full Size V-8 cars. They would run all the heat races in the afternoon session to set up the features and the last-chance qualifiers for the evening show. The first feature out of the box would be the van feature and when the smashing and crashing would slow down there would be two left running it would be a matchup between Alex Martin and Zach Rondeau and in the end the winner of the $1,000 would be Alex Martin. Then we would have the full-size trucks taking on the two modified v8 cars that showed up and in the end, there would be 2 going after the cold hard cash of $1,000 and it would be Eli Beshaw over Benjamin Kennedy for the win. Then we would have our new class the Economy Full Size cars with three entries and in the end they would keep it between the family as the Beshaw's would go after the first place trophy and prize money and the winner would be Tommy Beshaw. Then it would be onto the semi-stock compact car feature and there would be 9 cars entered in the end it would come down to a couple of cagey veterans with Allen Fountain and Terry Reno and in the end, Fountain would get his first feature win the $2,000 that goes with it. Then to finish the night it would be the Stock Compact feature which had 23 cars that qualified for it but only 14 were able to make the call they would put on a great show for about ten minutes for the crowd and in the end Zack Provost would get the win over Brandon Lamere and take home the hardware and $2,000. Most of these derby drivers will be back in action in a couple of weeks for the Franklin County Fair Demolition Derby on August 3rd. Gallery

It would be the last day of the Clinton County Fair 75th edition and it would be the popular demolition derby as the grandstand entertainment for the day as it would have something for drivers of all ages with the power wheels, lawn tractors, Compact Cars (Stock, Semi Stock, Modified), Modified Full-Size Cars, Trucks and Vans and there would be just about a 100 cars on the day. The demolition derby action would start off with the kids in the power wheels derby getting their 15 minutes of fame in front of the packed house as they show off their future derby skills. Then it would be onto the lawn tractors demolition derby and there would be ten of them and when the dust and smashing settled the winner would be Scott Bouyea. Then it would be onto the heats for the stock compact cars and there would be five of them and the winners would be Travis Reo, Aisleigh Sandberg, Kolby Blaise, Alex Martin, and Alan Fountain. Then it would be onto the evening show for the day and it would start off with the last chance qualifier for the stock compact cars and Terry Reno and Sami Durgan would advance. Then it would be featured from then on and it would start with the new Semi Stock Compact Cars and the winner on the night would end being Landon Sears, then it would be onto the trucks and vans in the full-size and mini division Dylan Peryea and Chico Martineau. Then next up would be the Modified Compact Cars and the four-car event and the winner would be Dave Compeau after the classic meltdown. Then we would have the beast of the demolition derby world with the fully modified full-size cars and it would come down to brotherly love as Kyle and Kaden Barney would battle it out for the thousand-dollar prize with Kyle getting the best of him this time around. The night would finish off with the stock compact cars main the $4,000 first place prize and 21 qualifiers in action and taking home the big check would be Terry Reno. Gallery
