The game would remain scoreless through the first period as the Panthers would get the opening goal of the game at the 3:52 mark of the second period when Avery McInerny would find the back of the net and make it a 1-0 game. The game would stay there until the 12:14 mark of the period, when the Cardinals would make it 1-1 on Bailey MacKellar's goal as they crashed the net and stuffed it home. The game would stay there through the rest of regulation, as both teams would have their chances to get the go-ahead goal but not get past the goalies, who stood tall. The game would head to overtime, where Bailey MacKellar would find the back of the net as she charged down the goalie to get the 2-1 Cardinals victory. It would be the return of a classic rivalry at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in the first of two games on Cancer Awareness weekend in front of 1,200 fans. The game would be scoreless through the opening two periods as the defenses would stand tall that night. The Cardinals would finally break through and get the game's opening goal at the 1:18 mark of the third period on the powerplay when Ttler Ramm would make it a 1-0 Cardinals game. The game would stay there till the 16:20 mark of the period when the Panthers would tie the game up at one on the Dimitri Tzaferis goal. The game would go to overtime tied at one, and in the extra frame, Cardinals Aaron Catron would find the back of the night for the game-winner at the 1:23 mark to give the Cardinals a 2-1 win. Jacob Hearne would make 15 saves in the winning effort as they go to 8-6-1 and head into their game against Wiltheir. It would be time to start the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Tournament again from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Middlebury Panthers as the classic rivals would meet again with a ticket to the final four on the line in front of 900 passionate fans. The visiting Panthers would get the opening goal of the first period just over the halfway mark of the first period and take the 1-0 lead on the Audrey Lazar goal. The game would stay there till the 7:32 mark of the second period when the Panthers would double their lead to 2-0 on the Kate Flynn goal. From there defense would be the main course on the menu as it would be the only two goals on the day but it would not be without some great effort by the Cardinals to try and get back in the game. In the winning effort for the Panthers, Sophia Will would make 30 saves for the shutout victory. As for the Cardinals Lilla Nease would do her best stopping 15 of 17 on the day but the Cardinals would fall short of the final four for the first time since the 2011 season as their season comes to an end at 22-5-1. It would be a nonconference battle within the top ten of the country in women's hockey as the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Middlebury Panthers at the Ronald Stafford Ice Arena in front of 350 fans in a midweek tilt. The game would be very tight through the first period both teams would have their chances to get on the board but the scoreboard would still be blank after the end of the period. In the second period, it would start the same. The Cardinals would break through and get the opening goal of the game at the 4:54 mark of the second period on a goal from Zsofia Pazmandi for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the last 100 seconds of the period when the Cardinals would take the 2-0 lead on the Ivy Boric goal. The Panthers would answer right back a minute later and get the game back within one on the Molly McQueen goal to make it a 2-1 game. In the winning effort for the Cardinals Lilla Nease would make 20 saves for the win as they go to 15-2-1 on the season and will be back in action at home this Saturday against Williams College. The Cardinals get on the board early in the game just 5:45 into the first on the Bennett Stockdale powerplay goal to make it a 1-0 game. The Cardinals would strike again on the powerplay at the 13:37 mark of the period on the Luk Jirousek as the Cardinals go up 2-0 Then just about 90 seconds later the Cardinals would keep the machine going as Josh Belgrave would make it a 3-0 game. Then to finish off the first period of scoring Trey Thomas would score just 53 seconds later to make it a 4-0 Cardinals game. The Cardinals would come out in the second period hot and score just 1:13 in on the Ryan Hogg goal to make it a 5-0 Cardinal game. That would be all the scoring on this night as the Panthers defense would button down the hatches from there on but the Cardinals would get the 5-0 win.
